 Phân biệt None và Neither 
 Bài viết sau sẽ giúp ta phân biệt được cách dùng giữa “neither” và “none”. 
- Neither có nghĩa là “not one or the other” (of two things). Theo từ điển The 
American Heritage Dictionary of the English language 4th edition, Usage Note, 
page 1177: “According to traditional rule, neither is used only to mean ‘not one or 
the other of the two’. To refer to ‘none of several,’ none is preferred.” 
Và từ điển cũng đưa ra thí dụ: 
- None of the three opposition candidates would make a better president than the 
incumbent = Không có ứng cử viên đối lập nào trong ba ứng viên có thể làm tổng 
thống giỏi hơn vị đương nhiệm. 
- Neither of the two answers is satisfactory. 
- We saw a couple of houses, but neither was really what we wanted. 
- We asked both children, but neither one was interested. 
- None of my friends has a car. 
* Lưu ý: hình thức động từ ở số ít (singular) sau “neither of” và “none of”.
