I. Tóm tắt bài giảng 
1. Lý thuyết 
 QT1: Cách sử dụng mạo từ không xác định a/an : 
- a / an + Danh từ đếm được số ít. 
- "an" dùng cho danh từ bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm. Danh từ bắt đầu bằng phụ âm dùng “a”. 
Lưu ý: Việc dùng “a/an” là căn cứ vào “âm” chứ không phải vào chữ viết của từ theo sau. Ví 
dụ: a university, an uncle 
 QT2: Không dùng a/an với danh từ số nhiều (danh từ có s/es) và danh từ không đếm được ( 
water, air, information) 
 QT3: Cấu trúc There + be+ (a/an)+N ( Không dùng “the” với “there + be”) 
 QT4: 
- Cách diễn đạt trong đo lường hay gặp: sixty miles an hour, forty hours a week 
- Một danh từ có lúc đếm được, lúc không. Ví dụ: time (thời gian) không đếm được nhưng 
time (số lần) thì đếm được. Trong ngữ cố định : I have a good time. 
 QT5: Sử dụng mạo từ xác định the khi: 
- Vật đã được nhắc đến trước đó. 
- Dùng trong các ngữ cố định: in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening

II. Tài liệu đọc thêm 
1. Một số danh từ có thể là danh từ đếm được trong một số trường hợp và là danh từ không đếm 
được trong các trường hợp khác. 
Ví dụ: 
 + Einstein developed a theory regarding space and ϕ .time. 
 + We had agreat time at the beach last week. 
2. Dùng “a” với nghĩa “for each”- mỗi hoặc “per”- một khi danh từ bắt đầu bằng một âm phụ 
âm. 
Ví dụ: 
+ Eggs are only 79 cents a dozen. 
+ My car gets 26 miles a gallon. 
3. Dùng “an” với nghĩa “for each”- mỗi hoặc “per”- một khi danh từ bắt đầu bằng một âm 
nguyên âm. 
Ví dụ: 
 + An airliner can travel more than 600 miles an hour. 
 + This perfume costs 300 dollars an ounce. 
4. Dùng “the” với “in the morning, in the afternoon”, và “in the evening”. 
Ví dụ: 
+ In the morning, I usually have bread and milk. 
+ English classes are held in the afternoon. 
5. Không dùng mạo từ cho “at night” 
Ví dụ: 
+ Ta không được dùng: “I always watch television at the night.”, mà phải dùng là: 
“I always watch television at night.” 
6. “Some’ và “any” chỉ được dùng với danh từ bất định không đếm được hoặc danh từ bất định 
số nhiều. Chúng ta cũng có thể dùng “any, some” trong câu hỏi với danh từ bất định số nhiều 
hoặc danh từ bất định không đếm được, nhưng “any” thường được dùng nhiều hơn.
