Như vậy chúng ta đã sang Bài 8. Cho tới bài này các bạn có thể theo dõi bài học qua Đài mà 
không cần nhìn vào tài liệu in được không? Nếu chưa được, các bạn nên cố gắng. 
Dialogue 1: 
Một số khách du lịch Australia đang ở thăm Việt Nam. Họ gặp nhau trên một chuyến tàu từ Hà 
Nội đi Hải Phòng. Một người trong số họ bỗng dưng đánh rơi hành lý của mình. Trong bài học 
qua Đài, bài hội thoại sẽ được chia làm ba phần. Sau đây là hai phần đầu: 
DAVID: Good morning 
FRED/PAT: Good morning. 
DAVID: Oops! Oh! Sorry! Are you all right? 
FRED: Sure. Do you want a hand? 
DAVID: Thanks… There! Phew! Sorry, my hands are cold. It’s freezing today, 
isn't it? 
FRED: Yes, it is. 
DAVID: By the way, I'm David Brown. 
FRED: Pleased to meet you, David. Fred Robinson. 
DAVID: Nice to meet you Fred. 
FRED: And this is Pat, my wife. 
PAT: How do you do? 
Dialogue 2: 
Fred, Pat và David hẹn nhau đi chơi buổi tối. 
FRED: Are you doing anything tonight, David? 
 DAVID: No, I'm free tonight. 
FRED: Good. Why don't we all go to the Hanoi Acrobats? 
DAVID: Great idea! 
PAT: Or a Vietnamese opera. I love opera. 
FRED: What about you, David? 
DAVID: I like music too. I'd prefer the opera. 
PAT: Fred likes music - don't you, Fred? 
FRED: I like acrobats too! 
Dialogue 3: 
Phóng viên Đài chúng tôi, anh Lawrie Bruce mời hai người Australia vừa mới đi thăm Việt nam 
về tới phòng thu. Lawrie đề nghị họ cho biết cảm tưởng về chuyến đi thăm Việt nam. Bài hội 
thoại được chia làm hai phần. Thuật ngữ Lawrie dùng là thuật ngữ báo chí. Thông thường 
người ta không nói chuyện theo kiểu này. 
LAWRIE: Sue, you visited Việt nam recently, didn't you? 
SUE: Yes, I did. 
LAWRIE: Where did you go? 
SUE: I went to Haiphong, Danang, Hue and Ho Chi Minh city. 
LAWRIE: What's Hue like? 
SUE: It's marvellous. Beautiful scenery. 
LAWRIE: What about Ho Chi Minh City? 
SUE: It's a lot bigger than Hue of course, and it's very lively… noisy, too. 
LAWRIE: Tell me more about Hue. 
SUE: Hue was the Imperial City. It has lots temples and tombs. And the 
river's very beautiful. It's a great place. I love it. 
LAWRIE: What do you think of hotels in Vietnam, Graham? 
GRAHAM: They're good. 
 LAWRIE: Sue? 
SUE: On the whole I think they're very comfortable, and I like the hotel food 
very much. 
GRAHAM: Yes, I agree. I think the hotel food in Vietnam's very good. 
LAWRIE: Well, talking of food, is Hanoian food better than Hue food? Graham? 
What's your opinion? 
GRAHAM: Hmm… no… in my opinion they're both marvellous! 
SUE: I don't agree. Hue food's too hot for me. You always need a large 
glass of cool water on the table! 
LAWRIE: Well thank you, Sue and Graham.

Part 4 - PRONUNCIATION (cách phát âm) 
Khi chúng ta nói là chúng ta biết một ngôn ngữ khác, điều đó không có nghĩa là chúng ta chỉ 
cần biết ngữ pháp và từ vựng của ngôn ngữ đó, mà ta cần biết cách dùng và hiểu sự nhấn âm 
cũng như nhịp điệu của nó nữa. 
Trong tiếng Anh, nhịp điệu phụ thuộc vào trọng âm của từ, cũng như sự nhấn âm của các từ ở 
trong câu. Những từ được nhấn âm ở trong câu thường là những từ có nghĩa cụ thể, rõ ràng 
(thí dụ như các danh từ, động từ, trạng từ và tính từ. Hay nói một cách khác, các âm tiết và 
các từ được nhấn âm bao giờ cũng được đọc to và rõ hơn các âm tiết và các từ không được 
nhấn âm. 
Những từ có chức năng ngữ pháp như từ nối thì sẽ không được nhấn âm. Chẳng hạn như từ 
can, of, to và and là những thí dụ của các từ không được nhấn âm và thường được đọc tắt 
trong câu.
