Part 1 - THE DIALOGUE (đối thoại) 
Anh Shane đang chuẩn bị đi nghỉ ít ngày. Chúng ta hãy nghe xem anh ấy sẽ đi nghỉ ở đâu và 
làm gì. 
Dialogue 1: 
SHANE: I'm meeting a friend in Brisbane on Monday, and we're flying to 
Cairns. We're staying at the Beachfront Hotel. 
We're taking a boat trip to the Reef on Tuesday, and on 
Wednesday we're going fishing. Then let's see - oh yes, on 
Thursday we're hiking through a rainforest, and then we're 
playing golf on Friday we've arranged all those and we'll 
probably drive up to Cooktown at the weekend. 
We're leaving Cairns on Sunday night. The plane arrives in 
Brisbane at nine o'clock. Then I'm catching a bus home. It gets in 
about eleven. 
Well, we're going to swim, and dive and we're going to eat lots 
of tropical fruit! Mmm. And the forecast says it's going to be 
sunny and very hot! It's going to be GREAT!

Part 3 - LESSON: talking about the future (nói về thời tương lai) 
Chúng ta dùng thời hiện tại tiếp diễn để diễn tả các kế hoạch đã được vạch ra. Cấu trúc này 
thường được áp dụng với các động từ chuyển động. Thí dụ: 
I am meeting a friend on Friday. Tôi sẽ gặp một người bạn vào thứ Sáu. 
 I am catching a bus to Hue on Sunday. Tôi sẽ đáp xe buýt đi Huế vào Chủ nhật. 
Thời hiện tại đơn giản được dùng cho các sự việc trong tương lai đã được sắp xếp trong các 
biểu thời gian, như các chuyến bay, giờ tàu chạy, thời gian các khóa học, dự định ngày nghỉ. 
Thí dụ: 
The plane arrives at nine o'clock. Máy bay hạ cánh lúc 9 giờ. 
The train leaves Hanoi at midnight. Tàu khởi hành từ Hà Nội vào lúc nửa 
đêm. 
Chúng ta dùng thời tương lai đơn giản khi các kế hoạch chưa được cụ thể. Thí dụ: 
We will probably drive home on Sunday. Chúng ta có thể lái xe về nhà vào Chủ 
nhật. 
Cấu trúc 'to be going to' được dùng để nói về một dự định, hoặc dự đoán cho tương lai dựa 
trên cơ sở có bằng chứng vững chắc ở thời điểm hiện tại. Thí dụ: 
I am going to meet a friend on Monday. Tôi sẽ gặp một người bạn vào thứ Hai. 
We're going to leave on Sunday night. Chúng tôi sẽ ra đi vào đêm Chủ nhật. 
Part 4 - PRONUNCIATION (cách phát âm) 
Chúng ta phải lên giọng ở phần cuối của một mệnh đề không hoàn chỉnh, và xuống giọng ở 
cuối mệnh đề chính. Thí dụ: 
On Monday	, I'm meeting friends. 
Vào ngày thứ Hai, tôi sẽ gặp một người 
bạn. 
One day, when I was young	, I went to 
Cairns. 
Có một lần, lúc còn trẻ, tôi đã đến thành 
phố Cairns. 
Các bạn tập đọc các câu sau đây theo ngữ âm của hai ví dụ vừa rồi: 
 1. Tomorrow	, we're going fishing. 
2. Last week, at the shop, I met an old friend. 
3. This morning	, in the office, I dropped my cup. 
Part 5 - PRACTICE (luyện tập) 
Điền vào chỗ trống của hội thoại sau đây với cấu trúc thời tương lai thích hợp: 
A. Have you booked your holidays this year? 
B. Yes. We ..(spend) a week at the beach. We 
 (stay) in a big hotel. 
A. It sounds great.

Part 6 – THE SERIAL (chuyện đọc từng kỳ)

 Episode 11: 
I took the briefcase from the safe and wrapped it in brown paper, and I took it 
home. 'I'm keeping it here until Cotton comes back,' I told Judy. She wasn't pleased! 
'What will you do with it?' She asked me. 
'I don't know,' I said. 'But right now I'm going to put it under the bed.' I couldn't 
keep the story from Mandy any longer, so I explained to her about the briefcase, and 
the key, and the red-faced man who had claimed to be Cotton's assistant. And I asked 
her to do something for me. I asked her to go to Cotton's laboratory at the university 
and find out where he was. 
Next day, Mandy paid a visit to Cotton's lab, but she didn't find out anything 
new. 'It's odd,' she told me later. 'They think he must be in Hong Kong but they're not 
sure. He didn't tell anyone he was going. There was an important meeting today, and 
he didn't tell them he wouldn't be there.' 
'Who did you speak to?' I asked. 'I spoke to Ben Morris, Cotton's assistant,' she 
said. 
'Ha ha! The attractive Ben Morris, eh? And what was he like?' 
'Very nice,' said Mandy. She blushed, and I thought she looked very pretty! 'But 
he's going to let me know when he hears anything,' she went on. 
'He's worried. I'm sure of that.' 
'And when are you going out with him?' I wanted to know. 
'I'm not!' Mandy said, but I knew she was interested! But it was Henry Cotton 
who interested me. I did not believe that he had written that letter. Why would he ask for 
'a package' and not a briefcase? And I knew that he would not send his driver for 
something so important. Then how did the man get the disk from Cotton? And why 
didn't Ben Morris know where Cotton was?
